Q Is there a lot of mess when Power Flushing?
A No – our engineers do their utmost to protect customer property at all times, using dust sheets and slippers to keep everything clean. As soon as we arrive, we prepare your property, ensuring everything is protected, and where possible, keep all equipment outside.
Q How long does Power Flushing take?
A Between five and eight hours.
Q How often will I have to Powerflush my system to keep it clear?
A If you have your boiler serviced regularly then your central heating system should not need to be Powerflushed again for about 10 years, and after Powerflushing you should see a marked improvement in the efficiency of your central heating and you should find that you will not need to have the heating system turned up so high thereby saving you money and reducing your carbon footprint.
Q Do you remove the radiators and pipes?
A No, we simply connect to your central heating system and all the Power Flushing is completed from the outside.
Q Do you have insurance?
A Of course! We have comprehensive insurance cover. Please ask to see the certificate.
Q My heating system is old – is it worth Power Flushing and would it hold up to the pressure?
A We assess each system and if we don’t think your system is up to it, we will always let you know.
Q Does it matter that my boiler is made of aluminium?
A That’s no problem at all. We assess each system before starting the Power Flushing process and we always check compatibility and use the appropriate chemicals for each individual job.
Q I have a sealed system - how does the sludge get in?
A The central heating boiler heats the water which is carried through the system to the radiators which in turn heat up the rooms.Unfortunately deterioration begins as soon as a new heating system is installed and filled with water. The combined effects of air, lime scale, a mixture of metals, and debris in the water, can cause internal corrosion of the system this creates a sludge which forms in the lower flow areas and clogs up the boiler and heat exchangers.
